Porcovino is a revolutionary new concept in e-commerce, a social e-commerce platform that brings the best of 10,000 italian villages to the worldwide stage. Porcovino is a virtual village, where each location ins a shop witha shop-owner, in which the focus is on discovery of new products and the narratives of the products and producers. Through a content-rich (both original and user-generated) user experience the users can explore a world of flavour, tradition and lifestyle unique to Italy. Among the features of teh village there will be: cross-branding with lifestyle and fashion sites, user generated/crowdsourced wines, private sales of special/unique products and a social platform that leverages on the passion for Italian/wine and food to drive e-commerce revenues. Strong of a team with more than 10 years’ experience in e-commerce, web applications, wine & gourmet industry, Japanese Italian wine market and logistics, Porcovino is set to implement an aggressive strategy both in operations and in marketing/communications to launch in Japan the first year and rapidly scale to the US and EU.
