The UMBRAMED project involves the design, manufacture and marketing of a new medical devices for urology. In particualr a new electromechanically activated artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) is presented for the treatment of severe urinary incontinence. Introducing new technologies in the field of urology. Technologies are introduced from the aeronautics industry and thus they guarantee the highest standards of reliability, accuracy and quality. This is possible thanks to the joint venture with an umbrian company, leader in the production of mechanical components for aerospace applications (UmbraGroup). The product was developed in collaboration with medical specialists in the field of urology to meet the needs of both urologists and patients. UMBRAMED not propose a product to their customers but works with themselves for the development of the best solution. With this philosophy was born the new electromechanically activated artificial urinary sphincter; to meet the needs of medical specialists who were not satisfied with the products currently on the market and in particular complained about technical deficiencies of the only artificial urinary sphincter in the world dating back to 1983. Cooperation with medical specialists is a strong point of UMBRAMED in developing new products and for the promotion and marketing. Those expert would be the key opinion leaders for the company. The target market is the niche of medical customizable devices to meet the needs of the specialists in the medical field who do not find the products available on the market adequate or who seek new tools for their profession. The main goal of UMBRAMED products is to improve the life quality of hundreds thousands of people around the world.
